Passage #2_edited_edited.jpg

I make one-of-a-kind stained glass pieces in my home studio here in Ithaca, New York. I have always enjoyed working with my hands, from doing needlepoint as a girl, to setting tiles in houses I helped construct in my previous life as a builder. A painter by training, I have always been fascinated by the light and color found in the natural world.  Over the past three decades, I have found myself returning to stained glass, drawn by the beauty of the glass itself as well as the process of copper-foil construction.

My stained glass panels are meditations on things that I love: a Bluebird on its branch, the color gold, the design of a vintage quilt, or the spiderwebs on a Tiffany lampshade. Creating these objects affirms my connection to what I find interesting - and beautiful - in this world. I see my work as a continuation of the Arts & Crafts movement, with its emphasis on craftsmanship, finding inspiration in nature, and bringing beauty into the spaces where we live.
